The Loft itself has been described as “casually sophisticated” and “full of education and nonsense”, both coming together to form the perfect description of this cozy room. Creating an inspiring stay was the presiding goal when we started, and we’ve worked hard to achieve that mark. We took antiques, modern amenities, folk art, and local history; and tossed all of it in the blender to create a cocktail full of fun and practicality. Grab a complimentary snack and coffee in the kitchenette and enjoy it while reading on our spacious covered porch. After an adventurous day outside, come back and unwind with a long, hot shower and then prepare to enjoy the best night’s sleep you’ve had in years when you crawl in the queen-size “tent” and drift off to the sound of the waterfall.
Old Falls is the official name of this 20’ tall by 30’ wide waterfall created by the natural springs that form the Cavender branch of Lick Creek in Eastern Hickman County Tennessee. Cited in the book Waterfalls of Tennessee by Gregory Plumb and numerous unofficial sites and social media profiles.

I wanted to take a moment and thank you for the amazing experience I recently had at your rental. From the moment we arrived, we felt such an overwhelming peace come over us. I loved the uniqueness of the room and coupled with being able to sleep to the sound of the waterfall creates something so magical. Your mouth drops open when you first arrive and then it takes about 10 minutes for it to close. It’s a unique place and hard to believe it actually exists. Had a great time creek sitting and just doing nothing. It had been a long time since I just relaxed. Thanks so much! See you next year!
I almost don’t want to write a review, because it feels like I am giving away one of my best kept secrets! This is truly the most peaceful place on earth. The space is small and quaint but feels like you have everything you could need! We have stayed multiple times when we need to escape the city and truly live under the stars in the middle of the woods! The waterfall is beautiful to look at, and even better to listen to when you’re falling asleep or wanting to clear your mind. The hosts are very communicative and want to make every stay unique! I can’t wait to go back...
We have loved staying at our favorite hideaway, at the Waterfall House! The hosts, Brandon and Sandy, have put in so many cute and clever details that make any stay perfect. This is a spot to go to be fully engaged with nature! Put away your cell phone and listen to the sounds of running water. This is the real-deal getaway deep in the woods. We have stayed multiple times, and each time is better than the last.

We would ride by the Waterfall House almost every time we came to Lyles and wondered what it would be like to stay there. It did not disappoint. Everything from the adventure to get there, sleeping to the sound of the water and drinking coffee in the morning on a beautiful veranda with a private waterfall. Perfect. And thank you for all the special touches you added to make our stay so special. This is a 10-star destination!
Hello! We are Brandon & Sandy Mitchell and we purchased the Waterfall House 5 years ago after stumbling upon it while riding in the country. Shortly after we moved in, we had a close friend go through a major life event and came to stay for an extended period of time to use our place to heal and reflect. This inspired us to share the top level of our house as a sanctuary for individuals and couples who need to reset from the noise of life. So, we went to work, drawing upon the knowledge from our backgrounds in real estate, construction, and hospitality; creating a space that feeds your spirit, soul, and body.
